The gathered sections of the book are milled; the single pages brought about by this are glued in the cover by means of cold glue.
+
- The spine is more bendable than perfect bind hotmelt and perfect bind PUR.
–
- The inside of the cover also has to be an uncoated paper kind.
- The spine of the cover bends when the book is used and results in unappealing wrinkles in the spine.
- The sensitivity for temperature of cold glue is less than that of hotmelt, but when used at a temperature less than five degrees ‘cold crack’ will occur. Until about one hundred degrees Celcius, there is no problem.
- About 20% more expensive than paperbound in perfect bind hotmelt.
- The time for cold glue to dry is about 24 hours.
